DAILY DEPARTURE

Day 1 Entebbe
Arrival in Entebbe. After the customs formalities welcome by a representative of the Safari Company and transfer to the hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Overnight at a hotel in Entebbe or Kampala in a double room. (hotel) (breakfast)

Day 2 Entebbe - Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - Murchison National Park
After breakfast depart from Entebbe and drive northbound through the famous Luwero Triangle and the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only location in Uganda where the endangered southern white rhinoceros
still occurs. The project in Ziwa aims to re-introduce the giant threatened with extinction in Uganda after they had completely disappeared from Uganda in the 1970s. A walk of about 1 hour is made in search of the southern white rhino with a guide and when found there can be spent some time with the rhinos. After the visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary drive towards the Murchison Falls National Park. On the way a stop is made for lunch at the Amuka Safari Lodge. Day 3 Murchison Falls National Park
This morning breakfast (6:15 pm) and then departure for a game drive through the Murchison Falls National Park in search of the animals that live here such as hippos, crocodiles, the Rothschild giraffe, lions, baboons, warthog, buffalo, hartebees and elephants. Furthermore many water birds (more than 360 species) such as the shoebill stork. After the game drive of about 4-5 hours back to the lodge for a lunch break. In the afternoon a boat cruise across the Nile to the waterfall, a spectacular experience. A walk can be made from the foot of the waterfall to the top where the driver will pick you up again. After the visit to the waterfall, drive back to the lodge and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Day 4 Murchison Falls N.P. - Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast depart from the Murchison Falls National Park and drive south via Lake Albert, the seventh largest lake in Africa. Via the fishing village of Butiaba we drive to the town of Hoima where we stop for lunch. After lunch drive to Fort Portal, the cleanest village in Uganda where the Tooro royal palace can be found. Arrival at the lodge at the end of the day and rest of the afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Overnight at a hotel near / in the Kibale Forest in a double room / tent. Day 5 Kibale Forest National Park
This morning early and drive to the Kanyanchu River Camp where chimpanzee tracking begins. Today a full day with the chimpanzees, a so-called "Habituation Experience" where you are already early with the chimpanzees and "walk along" all day in their daily activities. The excursion starts early so you see the chimpanzees coming out of their nest, she sees hunting in the evening to see their nests build for the night. The excursion lasts from approx. 06.30 in the morning to 7 in the evening, a unique experience. Uganda and the Kibale Forest is known for the primates colonies that occur, with a total of 13 different species of primates of which the chimpanzee is the most "popular". Remember that a certain fitness is required and that water, lunch package from the lodge has to be taken. It is advisable to bring waterproof walking shoes, a hat, a light rain jacket, t-shirt with long sleeves, long pants and insect roller or spray and of course the binoculars and camera with sufficient batteries and memory. Day 6 Kibale Forest National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast departure from the Kibale Forest National Park and drive to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way you stop at the equator where you can take pictures. If it is not raining, drive the route via the crater lakes that were formed 10,000 years ago. On the way to the lodge a first game drive in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon a boat trip is planned over the Kazinga channel to Lake Edward with the opportunity to take many bird species, game and photos. Day 7 Queen Elizabeth N.P. - visit to the Kyambura Gorge
This morning in time for the best chance to see wildlife. Game drive through the Queen Elizabeth National Park of approx. 4 hours and then a stop for lunch at the Mweya restaurant. After lunch departure for a second chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura Gorge. After the visit to the chimpanzees back to the lodge. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight in a hotel in the Queen Elizabeth National Park in a double room. (hotel) (breakfast)

Day 8 Queen Elizabeth N.P. - Ishasha
After breakfast departure towards the southern part of the Queen Elizabeth National Park called Ishasha sector known for the tree-climbing lions that occur here. On the way to the lodge game drive through the park. Lunch at the lodge and then a second game drive through the Ishasha sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Overnight at a hotel near / in the Ishasha sector in a double room. (breakfast)

Day 9 Ishasha - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Early on and a game drive through the park in search of the lions. After the game drive back to the lodge for breakfast. Then depart from the lodge and drive towards the southern part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On the way a stop can be made at the Kitagata hot spring, a hot water source of which the local population is convinced that it has medical powers. There is time to take a delicious hot water bath. After the visit to the hot springs continue driving to the southern part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Rest of the afternoon at leisure to prepare for the gorilla trekking the next day. Day 10 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
This morning it is early to prepare for one of the biggest highlights of the trip, the visit to the gorillas. From the hotel it is a small car ride to the starting point of the tracking where the registration form is completed. At 8.00 a briefing will follow about the do's and don'ts during the tracking, after which the walk starts at 8.30 am. For the tracking a certain condition is required and good wall shoes are a must. During the search for the gorillas, the park ranger will give information about the gorillas but also about the other flora and fauna. The duration of the tracking depends on the search for the gorillas and can last for a few hours but also a whole day. When the group is found a maximum of 1 hour can be spent with the gorilla. After the gorilla tracking back to the lodge and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in a hotel in / near the Bwindi National Park in a double room. (hotel) (breakfast)

Day 11 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park - Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast departure from Bwindi N.P. and drive towards Lake Bunyonyi, Africa's second deepest freshwater lake. In the afternoon you can swim in the lake or visit the nearby village and the local market. You can also take a boat trip on the lake with a visit to the islands or take a canoe trip on the lake. Interesting is a visit to "punishment island" in Lake Bunyonyi. In the rural community of Uganda there was a big taboo on young girls who were not married and became pregnant. Often these girls were exiled to this island where they often died of hunger and thirst or drowned in the lake. This served as a warning for other young girls. Day 12 Lake Bunyonyi - Bugala Island
After breakfast departure from the lodge and about 3 hours drive to Masaka town and then about 2 hours drive towards Bukakata. Along the way small villages, local markets and a beautiful landscape that passes by. Arriving is Bukakata and ferry crossing to one of the Ssese Island, Bugala Island in the Lake Victoria. Arrival and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the Brovad Sands Lodge in a double room ensuite. (hotel) (breakfast)

Day 13 & 14 Bugala Island
Two wonderful days to rest after the trip. There are a number of activities possible (optional and extra) such as fishing, hiking in the beautiful nature, canoeing, boat trips on Lake Victoria and quad bike tours across the island. Day 15 Bugala Island - Entebbe
This morning the ferry leaves breakfast at 08.00 on time. Arrival at Entebbe at 11.30. There is time to explore the city and have lunch and dinner. Transfer to Entebbe airport. End of arrangement.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Language:
The trip is accompanied by a certified, English speaking guide / driver.

Visa:
If you are in possession of a Dutch / Belgian passport which is valid for at least 6 months after returning from the trip, a visa is required for Uganda. You can request this via the Embassy in Brussels or the consulate in The Hague. There must also be enough empty pages next to each other in the passport for the required stamps. If you are in possession of a nationality other than the Dutch or Belgian, then check with the Consulate. AfrikaOnline does not provide visa. For information you can go to the website of the visa service: www.visum.nl. If you do not have a valid passport and / or travel documents during the trip then the consequences for the person in question are for your own account. (changes subject to change).

Highlights during the trip:

Travel - Cancellation insurance:
The cancellation of a cancellation insurance is recommended, a travel insurance is mandatory. If the insurance is not taken out via AfrikaOnline, the policy numbers of both insurance policies must be communicated in writing to AfrikaOnline within 2 weeks after booking.

Participation:
From 12 years, no maximum age. However, at least 1 adult must travel for each child under the age of 18. During the trip, walks are made that require a certain endurance. The walks are classified as middle-class walks.

Luggage:
